Operation Sindoor: Attack on terror and reimagining of united India - Sudhir Mishra, Shivpuri

The recent heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam is not only a deep wound to Jammu and Kashmir but to the soul of the entire nation. In this cowardly attack, unarmed, innocent civilians were brutally killed- a barbarity that shows terrorism transcends all human values and religious boundaries.

In response, India launched 'Operation Sindoor,' a meticulously planned and robust military operation targeting terrorist camps, training centers, and their leaders in Pakistan. A historic achievement of this operation was the elimination of the notorious terrorist Masood, who had orchestrated deadly conspiracies against India for years.

This incident has sparked both outrage and awareness across the country. As news of this brutality reached Indians at home and abroad, the question grew louder: Do those who spread violence in the name of religion, and those who shelter them, have no regard for human values? The time has come to globally ban ideologies, distorted religious propaganda, and incitement that justify violence. This is not just India’s concern but a question for all of humanity.

Recalling the 1947 partition of India, it is evident that the country’s top leadership closely examined the social behaviors of the northwestern frontier regions- such as their volatile nature, violent tendencies, looting, and external aggression. The aim was to build a peaceful India focused on development.

'Akhand Bharat' is not merely a geographical concept but a cultural consciousness. Ancient India’s boundaries stretched from the Hindu Kush to Myanmar and from Sri Lanka to Iran. This is not just historical pride but an inspiration for cultural renaissance. Borders are not mere lines- they embody culture and spirit. India’s land border spans approximately 15,200 km, and its maritime border exceeds 7,500 km. However, the Radcliffe Line, McMahon Line, and Durand Line are not just demarcations but painful reminders of partition.

Today, India is reawakening its defense sensitivity. Operation Sindoor is proof of this. Border security is no longer just a military responsibility but a matter of national consciousness. The vision of Akhand Bharat is no longer a mere fantasy but a foundation for intellectual and cultural reconstruction. It is our duty to learn from history, understand the present with vigilance, and move confidently toward the future.
