Madhya Pradesh CM Directs Ministers to Adopt ‘Work from Home’ and Virtual Meetings

BHOPAL, 18 May 2026:
In a major push toward administrative modernization and environmental sustainability, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has instructed his cabinet to prioritize "Work from Home" (WFH) protocols and virtual meetings. This strategic shift aims to align the state’s governance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of reducing fuel consumption and promoting the use of public transport.

Driving Efficiency through Digital Innovation

State BJP President Hemant Khandelwal confirmed that the administration is actively seeking to replace traditional in-person gatherings with digital alternatives wherever possible. Highlighting this transition, Khandelwal noted that even emergency core team meetings are now being scheduled as virtual sessions to ensure swift decision-making without the logistical delays of physical travel. This move is seen as a commitment to "Green Governance," focusing on saving resources like petrol and diesel while maintaining a high pace of government work.

A Broader Vision of Accountability

The directive for virtual work was issued during a high-profile performance review marathon held on May 17, where Dr. Yadav conducted intensive one-to-one discussions with 20 ministers. The Chief Minister took a comprehensive "account" of departmental progress, specifically focusing on:
  • The fulfillment of election promises made to the public.
  • The ground-level impact of policies in schools, health centers, and Anganwadis within assigned districts.
  • The overall achievements and efficiency of various departments.

Synergy Between Power and the Grassroots

The review also emphasized the importance of coordination between the government and the party organization. Dr. Yadav and organizational leaders scrutinized how well ministers are engaging with party workers and maintaining their field presence.

Continuing this drive for excellence, the Chief Minister is scheduled to meet the remaining 11 ministers tomorrow. Additionally, he has summoned the heads of various state corporations (Nigam Mandals) for a specialized training session focused on maintaining an ideal public conduct and balancing administrative power with dedicated public service.

By championing virtual governance and rigorous accountability, Dr. Mohan Yadav is positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leader in modern, transparent, and result-oriented administration.
