Bhopal, April 15, 2026
: In accordance with the instructions of the Government of India and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the self-enumeration facility for the first phase of "Census 2027," which involves "House Listing and Housing Census," is being launched. Under this initiative, citizens of the district can now register their family details online.

Key Dates and Portal

Self-Enumeration Period: Citizens in Madhya Pradesh can record their information from April 16 to April 30, 2026
Enumerator Fieldwork: Enumerators will conduct door-to-door house listing from May 1 to May 30, 2026
Official Portal: Citizens can register their details by visiting https://se.census.gov.in

The Self-Enumeration Process
Registration: Users must select their state and enter the name of the Head of the Family along with a mobile number. Please note that the name of the head and the selected language cannot be changed later.
Mapping: Citizens are required to mark the precise location of their residential building on a map.
Questionnaire: Users must answer essential questions related to house listing on the portal.
Obtaining SE ID: Upon successful submission, a unique 11-digit Self-Enumeration ID (SE ID) will be generated and sent via mobile and email.
Mandatory Field Verification Field verification remains mandatory even after self-enumeration. When census enumerators visit homes, citizens must share their SE ID with them. If the ID matches, the data will be finalized; otherwise, the enumerator will collect the information again.

The District Census Officer of Bhopal has appealed to all citizens and government employees to utilize this tech-friendly process and cooperate in this task of national importance.
