IPS Transfers in Madhya Pradesh: Police Chiefs of 19 Districts Likely to be Replaced

Bhopal, April 14, 2026:
A major administrative reshuffle is expected in the Madhya Pradesh Police, with the transfer list for 25 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers reportedly being prepared. Sources indicate that Superintendents of Police (SPs) in 19 to 20 districts are likely to be changed.

The reorganization is driven by several factors:

The performance of SPs in 8 districts has reportedly not met the Chief Minister's expectations.
There have been significant complaints from within the organization regarding SPs in 6 districts.
5 district SPs are being moved due to their recent promotions.

According to a report by journalist Sudhir Dixit, a decision has already been made to replace the police chiefs of Shajapur, Shivpuri, Dindori, Mandla, Chhatarpur, Burhanpur, Niwari, and Neemuch. Additionally, changes are planned for Damoh, Seoni, Agar Malwa, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, though the new names for these positions have not yet been finalized.

The following officers have been promoted, which will lead to new appointments in their current jurisdictions:
Manoj Rai (SP Khandwa)
Rahul Lodha (SP Rail Bhopal)
Simala Prasad (SP Rail Jabalpur)
Asit Yadav (SP Bhind)
Mayank Awasthi (SP Dhar)
Shailendra Singh Chauhan (SP Rewa)
